Books I Found Helpful

If you are reading these words, you or someone you love has breast cancer. The good news is, there are great books out there that can help you get through it. There are also horrible books which you should steer clear of.

The first book that you need to be aware of is Good Calories, Bad Calories by Gary Taubes. It is not about breast cancer per se, but it provides the foundation for what you need to know about doctors and how to look at scientific studies. I am very grateful that I knew about Taubes from his New York Times article, "What If It's All Been a Big Fat Lie?" Start with this article to get a quick inkling of why powerful commercial forces have a lot of control over something as intimate as what you eat, and how this affects your health. If anything in this article resonates with you, you definitely will be interested in learning more about books that can give you more control over your destiny. Don't be satisfied with one or two opinions. There is a wealth of good information in books and films, online and in magazines. Breast Cancer Book Reviews is here to help you find it.
